App: Splat (com.splat.app)
Last Updated: September 1, 2026

In short

Splat scans a physical object with your phone's camera and builds a 3D model of it directly on the device. The app has no network access: the INTERNET permission is not requested, and without it no code inside the app can send anything anywhere.

For that reason, we do not collect or transmit any data. No photos, no models, no device information, no usage statistics, no crash reports. The app has no account system, and it contains no ads and no analytics.

What stays on your device

Everything the app produces is kept in its own folder on your phone:

Android/data/com.splat.app/files/scans

That folder contains:

This folder is removed by the system when you uninstall the app.

Where else the app writes

Both folders belong to you, not to the app. They survive uninstalling the app, and you can delete them with any file manager or from the gallery.

Permissions and why they are needed

Camera — the only source of frames during scanning. Without it the app has nothing to do.

Notifications — training and imports run for hours and continue while the app is off-screen. Android only allows this kind of work with an icon in the status bar, and the notification shows what is being computed and at which step.

Background work and wake lock — for the same reason: to keep training from being interrupted when the screen turns off.

The app does not request storage permissions. Photos and videos from the gallery are picked through the system picker, and the app only receives the files you explicitly select.

Third-party components

The app uses ARCore and the Google Play Services for AR service. It determines the position of the phone in space during scanning. This is Google software installed separately on your phone, and its data collection is governed by Google's Privacy Policy:

https://policies.google.com/privacy

We do not receive any data from it about you and have no control over it.

The other libraries the app is built from are listed in the "Licenses" section of the settings. None of them make network calls, because they have nowhere to reach out to.

Children

The app is not directed at children and does not collect any data about anyone.

How to delete your data

Uninstalling the app removes its folder along with all scans and models. The copies in Pictures/Splat and Download/Splat remain — delete them yourself if you no longer need them.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, a new date will appear here and the updated version will be published at the same address. The app shows the version that was included in the release installed on your device.
